Darren Julian is a Mi’kmaw artist from Wagmatcook First Nation. Darren grew up in Paqtnkek First Nation with his siblings and his artistic parents, Sandra Simon (Quill Baskets) and James Julian (Painter).
Darren Julian is a self-taught artist who specializes in acrylic paint, with unique styles and inspirations portraying Native art. Influenced by his late father and wife, Darren works creatively in portraying nature and spirituality in his work.
Darren’s work will be displayed in a pop-up exhibition at Inverness County Centre for the Arts; and Darren will be painting at the Centre on Monday, July 10th.
