inFlux Ideas: Traditional Textile Skills: Homemakers, Social Change and Reclamation with Olivia Ball

Olivia Ball is a jeweller and visual artist from the Heavy Woollen District of the UK. She learned to knit and crochet from her mother, studied and taught wool spinning in Orkney and studies weaving in Cape Breton.

 

Olivia will speak about how traditional textile skills have affected social change; been impacted by social change; and what is being done to preserve these skills today.
