Garden Design Seminar – Jasmine Jones

A garden can be a place of contemplation and deep healing: spending time in a beautiful garden can sooth the soul and give solace in troubled times. Working in a garden is good physical exercise, and also connects the gardener to life force, the natural world, and the rhythm of the seasons.

Anyone can create a garden, in any environment, in a small space or over several acres. Whether you are considering creating a garden from scratch or renovating an existing garden, the most important element is planning. A well-planned garden design is your best tool in creating a garden that will enhance the site, add value to your property and give you pleasure for years to come.

In this two-day seminar you can learn from a professional landscape/garden designer/horticulturist how to plan and design your garden and prepare plan drawings which will facilitate the construction of the garden. This seminar is open to avid gardeners or absolute beginners. You will learn the series of steps you will need to take in the process of developing a design plan for your garden.

If time allows you will also learn some graphic techniques which you can employ in the creation of a Master Plan drawing, and some information about working with plants.

Come with an open mind, be prepared to take copious notes, and bring a lunch.

The seminar will take place at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts in Inverness.

Dates are Saturday June 25 and Sunday June 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Registration is limited. Call the Inverness County Centre for the Arts at (902) 258 – 2533 to reserve your spot!

Fee: $100
