FROM: is a set of conceptual illustrations and prints that explores the act of craft making, and intent in the act of craft making. This installation focuses in particular on the art of hooked rugs, and Cape Breton makers. FROM: offers a conceptual depiction of the act of creating, giving and selling.
Alison Uhma is an illustrator and comic book maker living in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She creates illustrations, and sequential art both cerebral and fun in a shared artist space in the historic North End of Sydney.
FROM: will run in tandem with Book Matters, an exhibition of artists books, zines, poetry and printed matter on display from Sept 25th-October 14th.
